ABOUT OUR SPEAKER: Dr. Stephanie Bissonnette

Dr. Stephanie Bissonnette is a Movement Disorder Specialist at Virginia Commonwealth University. She obtained a Masters in Public Health in Health Law and Bioethics from Boston University before attending medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine. She then completed residency at The Ohio State University and her Movement Disorder Fellowship at Boston University’s Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Fellowship. She was on faculty at Boston University School of Medicine until 2023 when she joined the faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and co-directory of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America Center of Excellence there. She is a clinician educator, working closely with the neurology residents as an Associate Program Director, and she is interested in clinical and community research with a particular focus on providing equitable care to historically underserved populations. She is dedicated to community and professional education about Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
