2024 APDA Florida Optimism Walk

Crucial Parkinson’s programs, support, and research grants come from the funds raised at our largest fundraiser of the year! Join a team or fundraise as an individual; this family friendly event welcomes all to connect with PD peers while raising funds to help APDA Florida reach further!

The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) Information & Referral (I&R) Center at the
University of Miami will soon launch an eight-week support series and introduction to
Parkinson’s disease (PD) for South Florida residents diagnosed in the last five years and their
care partners.

The PRESS™ (Parkinson’s Roadmap for Education and Support Services™)
program will meet in-person at 2:00 PM on Fridays, September 6 through October 24, 2024 at
the University of Miami, 1120 NW 14 Street, 6th floor Conference Room 692, Miami, FL 33136.
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.

APDA’s PRESS program is specially designed for people within five years of a PD diagnosis
and their care partners. The eight-week program will be conducted in a support group format
and aims to help attendees feel empowered and optimistic by providing education, emotional
support and a comfortable space to share
