APDA’s Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Rebecca Gilbert spoke to Scientific American magazine about recent research on LRRK2 and what it could mean for both people with LRRK2 mutation and, importantly, for those who do not carry the mutation. The research was co-funded by APDA and conducted by APDA Scientific Advisory Board member Dr. Timothy Greenamyre. The article discusses the potential ability to manipulate LRRK2 what we’re learning about the pros and cons of doing so.
